Your license must be renewed biennial. To qualify for this process, you have to proof that you have been working as a nursing aide a minimum of four hundred paid hours within the last twenty-four months. In case you obtained your nursing assistant certificate in another state, you can apply for reciprocity.

To be eligible, you need to provide proof that your license is valid and active, is in good standing, you have done a minimum of 400 paid hours as a CNA (supervised by a nurse) within the last twenty-four months, and that you have passed an approved certified nursing assistant training in that state (must be equivalent to Oregon’s training requirements).

Besides these conditions, you still have to pass a criminal background check before being listed on this state’s nurse aide registry.
